Half-price Residential service in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana

What changed

satelliteinternet.com reported on Aug 26, 2026 that residents of Vermilion Parish, Louisiana now qualify for a free Starlink kit and 50% off Residential plans, with the base 100 Mbps plan at $27.50 a month instead of $55. New customers get the discount at checkout; existing customers get it automatically.

The discount is tied to the address. Per satelliteinternet.com, a kit activated at a different address is billed the full amount, and Roam plans are excluded. Starlink's support page, as the outlet describes it, doesn't say how long the offer lasts.

Tesla North (Aug 27) and Drive Tesla Canada (Aug 31) add that eligibility is decided only by service address, that Starlink can stop offering it to new customers at any time, and that existing recipients get at least six months' notice before it ends.

"Half price Starlink for anyone in the neighborhood of Starbase Louisiana"

Who it affects

Residential customers, new and existing, with a service address in the designated part of Vermilion Parish.

Not Roam customers, who are excluded per satelliteinternet.com.

Not anyone outside the area: the discount follows the service address, and a kit activated elsewhere is billed at full price.

What you can do now

If you live in Vermilion Parish, check your exact service address at starlink.com checkout.

If you're already a customer there, confirm the discount on your bill; it's meant to apply automatically.

If you're elsewhere, there's nothing to claim. See why regional offers don't show at every address, and our free kit offers page for $0 hardware options available more widely.

What hasn't changed

Regular Residential prices outside the area: $55 for 100 Mbps, $85 for 200 Mbps and $130 for Max, checked Oct 5, 2026.

Context

The offer followed SpaceX's announcement of Starbase Louisiana, a planned launch site on the Gulf Coast. satelliteinternet.com notes SpaceX offered similar local incentives around Memphis and Southaven, near xAI data centers. On Oct 5, 2026 Starlink announced a matching half-price offer for the Cameron County area of Texas, near Starbase.

One outlet's report of this offer quoted prices that appear to predate the May 2026 price increase, so we use the figures from outlets that match current plan prices.

What we don't know yet

• The exact boundary of the qualifying area within the parish.
• Whether the free kit is owned or rented; reports describe it as a free kit or no up-front hardware cost.
• Whether the offer is permanent or will end for new customers; no end date has been given.
