Cheapest Mini right now (Oct 5, 2026)

$149 on starlink.com, no end date stated, needs a Roam or Residential plan. Home Depot and Best Buy listed it around $249 the same day, so the store is about $100 more and can't get the referral free month.

The "free Mini" offers

Residential Max includes an extra Mini kit for travel, for eligible Residential Max orders (Max is $130/mo). A Sep 22, 2026 report says free Mini rentals now extend to every Residential plan; starlink.com's national listing didn't show that on Oct 5, so it stays "unclear". Either way it's a rental: the Mini goes back if you leave.

When this is the wrong choice

If you only need home internet, the Mini isn't a deal for you; the Standard kit is the home kit.
If you'd move to Max only to get the free Mini, buying the Mini outright is far cheaper.

Questions people ask

What is the best Starlink Mini deal right now?

On Oct 5, 2026: $149 on starlink.com (or about $12.41 a month for 12 months), with no end date stated. Home Depot and Best Buy listings we saw the same day were around $249.

Is the Starlink Mini cheaper at Best Buy or Home Depot?

Not on Oct 5, 2026. Both were listed about $100 above starlink.com. Check whether they have matched since.

Can I get a Starlink Mini for free?

As a rental, with Residential Max (and, by one report, with other Residential plans since Sep 22, 2026). You return it if you leave the plan.

What plan does the Mini need?

A Roam plan for travel use (from $55/mo for Roam 100GB), or a Residential plan at a fixed address.

If starlink.com is the cheaper path for you

Referral disclosure: the links in this box use the site owner's own Starlink referral link. If you order with it, you get one free month of service (credited to your second bill; new customers ordering on starlink.com who stay at least two billing cycles), and the owner may receive a referral reward from SpaceX. The kit and plan prices are the same as without the link. We're an independent site, not affiliated with or endorsed by Starlink or SpaceX. How we make money.

US addresses only. It works only if you have never had Starlink, and only for a kit and plan ordered on starlink.com. A store kit never qualifies.

What you'll still pay: the kit ($349 to buy) or a rental activation fee shown at checkout, the monthly plan (from $55/mo), tax, and possibly a one-time demand surcharge in busy areas.
