How we check deals
Sources
- official: starlink.com, read through its public pages and data. Its pages render only with JavaScript, so some facts were read from its data endpoints or search-result text; those are hand-checked in a browser before launch.
- secondary: a news outlet or industry site with its own date. Labeled wherever used.
- retailer: a store's own listing. Store pages block automated checks, so prices seen only in search results are marked "unclear".
- unverified: nothing we trust states it. We print the word "unverified" and never put a guess in a total.
Dates and statuses
- Every row has a "checked" date. Live offers are re-checked at least every 14 days; after that the row shows "needs re-check" instead of a price, even on a cached page.
- Plan and fee facts expire after 21 days; the site's build fails until they're re-checked.
- Ended offers stay in the log, struck through, with their end date.
- When sources disagree (for example on the Mini's price before Oct 2, 2026) we say so and don't pick one.
What we never publish
Invented prices, end dates, countdown timers, urgency badges, reviews or quotes from people we can't name, or claims to be official.
