Starlink Mini gets a payment plan: $199 or $16 a month

What changed

RV Mobile Internet reported on Jul 28, 2026 that Starlink added an installment option for the Mini: $16 a month for 12 months, $192 in total at 0% APR, or $199 paid up front. It was the first payment plan we have on record for the Mini in the US.

The same update brought the Standard dish back as a hardware choice for Roam (travel) plans, priced at $349. The Mini remained the cheaper and more portable option for RVs and boats, while the Standard dish gives better performance where you can mount it.

Roam service plans weren't part of this change; they stayed separately priced by data allowance.

"The Mini remains the cheaper and much more portable choice, especially for RVers and boaters"

Who it affects

Mini buyers who preferred to spread the cost. Note the installment total ($192) was slightly below the $199 cash price in the source's figures.

Store shoppers: the payment plan was a starlink.com option. Store prices for the Mini were separate and, when we looked on Oct 5, 2026, around $249.

What you can do now

This offer has ended. If you bought the Mini on the $16 plan, your existing plan isn't affected by the later price cut as far as any source says; check your account for the remaining balance.

For today's Mini price, see Mini deals; it's $149 since Oct 2, 2026, about $12.41 a month over 12 months.

What hasn't changed

Roam plan prices stayed as set in May 2026: Roam 100GB at $55 and Roam 300GB at $80 a month.

Context

The Mini's price fell in steps over two years: $599 at US launch in June 2024, $229 over the 2025 holidays, $199 on sale in January 2026 against a $249 list, this $199-or-$16 offer in July, and $149 from Oct 2, 2026. Each step is in our price history with its source.

Bringing the Standard dish back to Roam gave travelers a choice again. The Standard dish needs more power and a mount, but it suits RVs that park for weeks; the Mini runs on less power and packs into a bag.

What we don't know yet

• Whether people who bought at $199 shortly before Oct 2 could return and rebuy at $149 within the 30-day window. Starlink hasn't published anything on that.
• Whether installment buyers have any credit check or address limits. The source didn't say.
