Standard kit half off at $175 nationwide, through Sep 12

What changed

satelliteinternet.com reported on Aug 14, 2025 that Starlink was selling the Standard dish for $175, half of its regular price (which that article rounded to $350). Our log dates the start to Aug 11, 2025 from other coverage. The sale ran through Sep 12.

Some regions also got discounted first-year plans: Residential at $80 a month and Residential Lite at $65.

"Starlink is selling its Standard dish for $175, which is half its regular price of $350."

Who it affects

New buyers anywhere in the US during the sale: unlike most kit offers, the hardware price wasn't limited to select areas.

Regional customers who also qualified for the first-year plan discount.

Shoppers comparing store prices: store tags at the time weren't part of Starlink's sale.

People who had just paid $349: those inside the 30-day return window could, in principle, return and rebuy; Starlink publishes no price-adjustment policy.

What you can do now

This is background. See price drops for the full kit history and the deals log for what's live now.

If a sale like this returns, note the end date and check your 30-day return window if you bought just before it.

Keep the order confirmation showing the price and date. If a lower price appears inside your return window, that confirmation is what you'd need.

What hasn't changed

Monthly prices outside the discounted regions stayed at their list rates.

The kit itself didn't change: the same Standard kit, router and cables, just at a lower price.

Context

A month later, on Sep 13, 2025, an even lower $89 kit price appeared in low-demand areas (see our separate item).

Before this sale, the Standard kit had been $349 since October 2024, when it was cut from $599. Half off took it to $175, the lowest nationwide price it had sold for at that point. The 2025 free kit had needed a 12-month commitment and was only available in select areas; this sale was a plain price cut.

Because it ran nationwide, it was the most accessible kit deal of 2025. If a similar sale returns, the deciding question is whether you can buy at all: since June 2026 many addresses see the kit only as a rental.

What we don't know yet

• The exact first day of the sale; sources we have date it Aug 11 to Aug 14, 2025.
• Which regions received the plan discounts.
• Whether the discounted plan prices lasted a full first year for everyone who signed up; the report described them as first-year prices.
